I’m a lover of all things sweet, so sweet wines caught my eye on the menu. The presentation was so elegant. Three mini wine glasses (pictured below), great for taste testing, tickling the taste buds…my FAVORITE was the Besitos Moscato ‘10 from Valencia, Spain

Salads are always a great way to start off, and I couldn’t really decide what my entree would be, so to tide me over, give me a little more time to decide, I went with the Cru House Salad. A bed of wild arugula & red oak, topped with lightly-seasoned cherry tomatoes, candied walnuts, ricotta salata and a very, VERY light apple cider vinaigrette…very refreshing.

My mom got the Goat Cheese Beignets…these were a HIT! Fried beignets, filled with goat cheese, placed on a bed of honey. The sweet and the sour of the cheese, went SO well together. It reminded me A LOT of Fage Greek Yogurt, one of my fave snacks! SUCH an innovative & creative appetizer I must say!

I FINALLY decided on the Ricotta Ravioli. Pasta is just so good. You can’t go wrong with it. Ricotta-filled ravioli, on a bed of herb butter, garnished with fresh English peas & Spanish chorizo. The ravioli was cooked perfectly. A few bites, and I was satisfied.

EVEN THOUGH we had the sweet wines, we still craved something sweet, to end the night on….our sweet tooth was yelling for it. Chocolate fondue was GREATNESS. Served with moist vanilla pound cake, fresh strawberries & bananas, biscotti and chocolate wafers. My parents had NEVER had it (oh, I forgot to mention my dad ended up joining us towards the end) and we all loved it.
A PERFECT ENDING.
For a little pre-Mother’s Day treat, we took our mom to
La Duni Latin Kitchen & Coffee Studio…I had heard nothing but rave reviews about it. My mom actually suggested it. That’s what she wanted, that’s what she would get.
The first thing you notice when you walk in, there’s a cafe setting. Small tables, very intimate, sun shining in the place, soft music playing, and then there are these immaculate, detailed cakes all around the restaurant. A lot of sweet treats, petite snacks, very cute place. You walk into the dining room and there’s a bar, you can see the great service all around, candles lit, families, food and just a very nice setting.
I was thirsty, wanted something refreshing…went with the Limonada Mango (pictured to the right):
Fresh hand-crushed lemons & limes with cane sugar, mango, water or soda and crushed ice. It was that soft ice too, like Sonic, so I was really loving it! They offered it regular or frozen. I got regular, which was very good, my mom got the frozen, and I think I’ll be getting that next time. Tasted like a mango virgin margarita, REALLY good!
Seeing as though it was lunch time, we all zoomed in on the sandwiches. Usually, I want everyone to get something different, so we can all have a taste test of some sort. That wasn’t the way it went, sadly lol…
My mom & brother got the Slow Roasted Lomo:
Citrus-marinated pork loin with mojo, greens, avocado, tomato, Manchego cheese & mayo on bakery-fresh popover. My brother got the sweet potato fries and my mom got the Yucca fries…
I wanted to be different, and I’m glad I was…I went with the Torta Cubana (pictured below):
Grilled French baguette with sliced tomato, gruyere cheese, baby Swiss, honey ham, roasted pork loin, pickles, mayo & dijon mustard…then pressed, and I got potato frittes (french fries) SOOOO GOOD!

This is my NEW favorite Happy Hour spot….I’m ALWAYS all about a Happy Hour. CHEAP food, CHEAP drinks and A LOT of fun, relaxation and chillin’ with your people!
My mom actually told me about this place. My GBF (Guy Best Friend) and I were looking for somewhere to go, somewhere to feed our faces and catch up on what’s going on.
NYLO Plano at Legacy was PERFECT!
Happy Hour was Mon-Fri from 4PM-7PM and Sunday from 7PM-12AM. I mean you can’t go wrong with those times. So right after work we met up.
The menu was FANTABULOUS! A long list of appetizers, ALL 1/2 price…you can’t go wrong with that. And I believe the house wine, white or red, was $4, well drinks are $3, so I was sippin’ on that good ol’ wine all night, feelin’ LOVELY!
The scene & setup are very posh, very modern, very trendy…a great place to get all of your friends together for a great time. And the patio, WITH a fireplace, looks ever better!

Lobster Nachos - lobster, black bean puree, jack cheese, pico de gallo and cilantro lime cream…so creative and good…

Slow Roasted Brisket Tacos…

Buttermilk Chicken Poppers - served with chipotle or buffalo dipping sauce. They were served PIPING HOT!

Chicken Sliders - crispy chicken topped chipotle mayo & fresh elote

Prosciutto & Arugula Flatbread … I honestly could’ve done without the prosciutto, it didn’t taste as fresh as I think it could’ve tasted. They have a Creamy Spinach & Artichoke Flatbread as well, I’ll probably try that next time.

now THIS might’ve been my FAVORITE! The Calamari w/ pepperoncinis & parmesan. As you can see, they served it with a lot of green, and so we ended up calling it The Calamari Salad, even ate it with a fork lol…it was SO filling and SO good!
I GIVE NYLO LEGACY A 4.5 OUT OF 5….YUMMY!
Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Chicken Taco Supreme…I was impressed. Fresh. Seasoned well. I’d get it again. DEFINITELY!
